Towards mutual spa-wellness tourism product

On 25th and 26th September, two-day Workshop “ Recommentations for promotion of Health tourism” has been held in Special hospital Čigota (Zlatibor). This Workshop was organized within project “Development and Promotion of Health tourism Spas in IPA Cross-border programme BiH-Serbia-Cross Spa” financed by European Union in BiH and Serbia.

Guidelines for further development of health tourism have been outlined by participants, representatives of Aquaterm Olovo, Terme Ilidža, Reumal Fojnica (Bosnia nad Herzegovina), Special hospital Čigota, Rehabilitation Center Zlatar (Republic of Serbia), Hotel Mona, Tourism Agencies, Local Tourism Organizations and Ecology Associations. This Workshop was opportunity for Spas included by the project to present their work through interesting presentations and share knowledges. Draft Study on the Situation and Possibilities for improving Health Tourism in Cross-border programme Serbia-BiH has been presented on the second day of Workshop. Draft Study has been created by consulting company Horwath HTL Belgrade . Beside participants of the Workshop also present were representatives of EU Delegation in Serbia Ms Elisabetta Sartorell, representatives of Joint Technical Secretariat of the Cross-border Programme Serbia-BiH, the state secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, delegate of National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, representatives of Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism FBiH, Minister of economy from Sarajevo Canton, secretary of Serbian Spas Association, members of Ivanjica Rehabilitation Center and Special hospital „Merkur“ from Vrnjačka Banja. The aim of this Workshop and presentation was to create the platform for mutual work on improving the existing offer and developing joint offer of this type of tourism through key actors dialogue in the field of health, wellness and spa tourism.
