Economic empowerment of women victims of domestic violence

Economic empowerment of women victims of domestic violence

The purpose of this project is the economic empowerment of women exposed to violence in order to create violence-free living conditions, which will be achieved through economic independence

Project location: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Project duration: 02/01/2022 – 07/31/2022

The project will, through education and allocation of funds for starting their own businesses, ensure conditions in which women will no more be dependent on their partners.
Within project activities, we will organize the provision of professional support and assistance through the FLD Women's Center for the target group by providing psychological support,
legal counseling and social support services.
Conducting workshops within the project will provide women with a resource to start and run their own businesses. At the same time, these workshops will serve as a support system during the initial stages of business development and as a monitoring tool through the following stages by providing support, all with the aim of gaining economic independence.

The project is targeting 20 women GBV victims, ages 25 to 60, accommodated at the Safe House, unemployed. Out of this number, 7 will get the opportunity to achieve economic independence. Other educated women (13) will be able to apply for economic support from other donors for running their own businesses.
