Exhibition "Together": The story of women's solidarity and support for the Safe House

The exhibition is for sale, so the proceeds from the sale of Arma Tanović Branković's paintings will be donated to the Safe House in Sarajevo. The exhibition is open until March 15, 2022

This week in Sarajevo, two artists: Arma Tanović-Branković and Dragana Seferović-Pilav opened the exhibition "Together" in the Museum of Literature and Theater Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is Dragana's first exhibition, while Arma is more in the role of her guest this time.

The exhibition "Together" is not just a story about paintings that will be placed on the walls of a museum, it is a story about the true friendship, and support of two women, who were brought together by the love of painting, but also the desire for mutual empowerment and support.

Dragana is a Roma woman who grew up in the SOS village. Although she has dyslexia, she graduated from two high schools, the Faculty of Physical Education, worked and continues to work as a ballet teacher, and is a trainer of various martial arts and skiing. In her life, she faced violence, which she reported and opposed, and for some time she stayed in the Safe House, where she also developed her painting talent, translating trauma and pain into a new form of art.

The exhibition is for sale, so the proceeds from the sale of Arma Tanović Branković's paintings will be donated to the Safe House in Sarajevo. The exhibition is open until March 15, 2022.

The Local Democracy Foundation thanks Arma and Dragana for the donation of funds for the Safe House.
