This Agreement was created as a result of recognizing the need to improve the capacity to provide psychological and legal support to witnesses, especially women victims of war sexual violence, as well as the need for continuous professional development
Today, a Cooperation Agreement was signed at the premises of the Court of B&H between the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Registry Office of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Witness Support Department) and the Foundation of Local Democracy, a civil society organization from Sarajevo with many years of experience in protecting the rights and providing support to women victims of war. This Agreement was created as a result of recognizing the need to improve the capacity to provide psychological and legal support to witnesses, especially women victims of war sexual violence, as well as the need for continuous professional development.
- By signing this Agreement, we have created the basis for long-term and structured cooperation. Women victims of war, especially survivors of wartime sexual violence, will now have more comprehensive support and, after the completion of their testimony and court proceedings, in cooperation with the Witness Support Department, will have the opportunity to receive the necessary legal and psychological support from the Foundation of Local Democracy – said Jasmina Mujezinović, Executive Director of the Foundation.
The Cooperation Agreement represents a formal agreement and defines the modalities of cooperation within the project "Embrace Opportunities Together", which is implemented by the Foundation of Local Democracy with the financial support of AMICA e.V. Freiburg and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ).
The Agreement was signed on behalf of the Court of B&H by the Acting President of the Court, Minka Kreho, and on behalf of the Foundation of Local Democracy by Executive Director Jasmina Mujezinović.
