This year, the Foundation of Local Democracy continued to support women who have survived violence, empowering them to begin their own path to economic independence
As part of the project "For a Life Without Violence in the Sarajevo Canton - Phase IV", which the Foundation is implementing in cooperation with the organization Medicus Mundi Mediterrania and the City of Barcelona, grants were awarded for five best entrepreneurial ideas of beneficiaries of the Safe House and the Women's Center.
After attending a series of educational workshops and gaining knowledge in the field of business idea development and applying for funds, five project proposals were selected and received financial and material support. The beneficiaries signed the donation contracts yesterday (July 10) with the Foundation's director, Jasmina Mujezinović, in the premises of the Women's Center. On that occasion, the director provided them with strong verbal support and encouragement on their further path to independence.
The grants include the following types of support:
· Agriculture: hoe - tiller with attachments
· Vegetable growing: greenhouse with irrigation system
· Livestock: four goats
· Livestock: three sheep - two beneficiaries
This activity confirms the long-term commitment of the Foundation of Local Democracy in the fight against violence against women, through practical and sustainable assistance in the process of reintegration and empowerment of women in the Sarajevo Canton.
