Legal Aid Centre for Women of Bosnia and Herzegovina

With an aim to further the accessibility to justice for targeted women groups (victims of war, victims of trafficking, victims of domestic violence and sexual exploitation, single mothers and women living on a social margin), as well as for the interest of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina – the Foundation of Local Democracy started to implement a project: Legal Aid Centre for Women of Bosnia and Herzegovina, financially supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Through the legal aid, this project emphasises the necessity for legal expertise directed towards the protection, security and dignified treatment of all, especially for above mentioned, marginalised groups. The project also provides the education/seminars which are to extend the capacities of the existing NGOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to further capacities and encourage the practice of legal aid in this region.

Legal aid will be provided in terms of:

Family law;

Social rights;

Rights of the civilian victims of war;

Rights of the families with children;

Health protection and health insurance;

Labour law;

Employment and mediation in employment.
