We gave a lecture on domestic violence to the students of the Faculty of Political Sciences

At the meeting, the previous activities on the establishment of crisis centers were discussed, and recommendations for the opening of crisis centers were presented, an integral part of which is the draft protocol on the organization and functioning of crisis centers (procedure for the reception and treatment of victims of sexual violence)

What is violence? What types of violence are there? How to break free from the cycle of violence? How does the Safe House in Sarajevo function and what kind of protection does it provide to the victim?

All these questions were answered by Mubera Hodžić-Lemeš, manager of Safe House in Sarajevo, to the students of the Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo. Mubera gave a lecture to students in the final year of social work on the topic: "Protection of victims of domestic violence through placement in a Safe House", and using concrete examples, she stated how the system for protecting victims of violence in Sarajevo Canton is being launched, emphasizing the role of the Safe House in the entire system.

Amer Homarac, a legal advisor of the Foundation for Local Democracy, who provides free legal advice and representation for victims of violence as part of the Center for Women, shared his experiences in the process of protecting women and girls who are victims of violence, an explained the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence and its functioning in practice.

The lecture for students has been held as part of the project "For a life without violence in Canton Sarajevo - phase II", implemented by the Foundation for Local Democracy in cooperation with Medicus Mundi Medietarnia and the City of Barcelona.
