We held a lecture on "Domestic Violence" for students of the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo

Representatives of the Local Democracy Foundation: Amer Homarac, FLD's legal advisor, and Mubera Hodžić-Lemeš, manager of the Safe House in Sarajevo, last Friday held a webinar on "Domestic Violence" for students of the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo

The introductory lecture was given by Amer Homarac, who spoke about the legal regulations that deal with domestic violence, and on this occasion, he pointed out that domestic violence is a global phenomenon, because it is the most frequent form of violation of human rights. No society is immune to violence. Amer specifically referred to the Istanbul Convention, as the most important convention in the Council of Europe, which was also signed by our country.

The students were no less interested in the lecture by Mubera Hodžić-Lemeš, who touched on the historical aspect of violence and presented an interesting statistic that every third woman in the world is exposed to physical or sexual violence.

This webinar was organized by the European Association of Law Students Sarajevo and the Foundation of Local Democracy, and the online lecture was attended by about 20 students of the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo.
