"Cultural heritage and tourism" training was held in Sarajevo

Organized by the Association for Intercultural Activities and Heritage Rescue in BiH, the first of three pieces of training was held in Sarajevo on Wednesday, September 8, 2022, with the aim of strengthening the capacity of the Network of Civil Society Organizations in the field of cultural heritage from the FBiH.

The training was attended by nearly 20 participants, representatives of the Network Association. The training was held by Prof. dr. Almir Peštek on the topic: "Cultural heritage and tourism", in which he provided basic information on the tourism valorization of cultural heritage. Through specific examples, the representatives of the association received guidelines on how to apply marketing in cultural tourism, with special reference to the digital approach in marketing. Professor Peštek especially emphasized the part related to the development and positioning of the brand. Through the exchange of opinions and examples of other brands, the participants discussed how they can raise their brand to a new level and make it recognizable. They also talked about the systemic problems that the participants face in their activities, and the most favorable approach and solutions for them.
The next training for the members of the FBiH Network will be held in October of the current year on the topic: "Identification and proposal to acquire the status of protected cultural heritage assets in Bosnia and Herzegovina".
The training are held within the project "Contribution of networks of civil society organizations to the improvement of the cultural heritage of BiH", which is implemented by the Association for Intercultural Activities and Saving Heritage in BiH with partners the Foundation of Local Democracy from Sarajevo, the Association of Citizens Don from Prijedor and the Association of Citizens Topeer from Doboj, and with the financial support of the European Union.
