"Local Democracy Foundation" and "Medicus Mundi Mediterrania" revised the activities of the project "For life without violence in Sarajevo Canton"

Ivan Zahinos, project director of the organization "Medicus Mundi Mediterrania" from Barcelona, ​​visited the "Foundation of Local Democracy" in the period from February 1 to 8 in order to review the activities of the project "For a life without violence in KS"

The aim of the visit was to discuss with FLD employees the implementation of projects that are being implemented in cooperation with the competent ministries of the Sarajevo Canton entitled "For a life without violence in Sarajevo Canton", as well as the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH entitled "Comprehensive strategy in the fight against violence adapted to the situation with COVID-19".

The visit was also used to discuss future projects, that is, the continuation of the implementation of ongoing projects that have achieved outstanding results.

As part of the visit, Ivan Zahinos and the director of the "Local Democracy Foundation" Jasmina Mujezinović met with the Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of the KS, Ivana Prvulović, who expressed her satisfaction with the implementation of the project "For a life without violence in the KS" ", highlighting the work of the Foundation of Local Democracy in the protection and prevention of domestic violence, and the very important role of the "Safe House", as the only safe house in Sarajevo Canton, in the protection of women, victims of violence.

The Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, Ivana Prvulović, in her previous work on behalf of the ministry she represents, has shown an extremely high sensitivity to the problem of violence against women and determination to overcome this problem.

The further implementation of the project "For a life without violence in KS" and the wider application of the Manual on the treatment of victims of domestic violence in health institutions were also discussed with the representatives of the Ministry of Health of KS.

A meeting was also held with the BiH Gender Equality Agency of the BiH Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees with a focus on the upgrading and work of Crisis Centers for rape victims at health institutions, where the commitment of the Foundation of Local Democracy in the protection and prevention of domestic violence was highlighted, and the very important the role of "Safehouse", as the only safe house in Sarajevo Canton, in the protection of women, victims of violence.
