PUBLIC CALL for artists: Be the voice of change in the fight against sexual violence against women

The exhibition "LET'S SPEAK UP" will be held on February 4, 2025, at the Gallery of the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This unique art event will last 24 hours and will bring together works by artists who courageously point out the problem of sexual violence and call for change

Dear artists,

We invite you to be a voice of change in the fight against sexual violence against women through your art. The “LET’S SPEAK UP” campaign, organized as part of the activities of the Foundation of Local Democracy (FLD), is an opportunity for you to reflect on this global problem with your creative work, with a special emphasis on sexual violence.

The “LET’S SPEAK UP” exhibition will be held on February 4, 2025, at the Gallery of the Museum of Literature and Theater Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This unique art event will last 24 hours and will bring together works by artists who courageously point out the problem of violence and call for change.

Why participate?

Exhibit your work in a prestigious space: Your artwork will be displayed in a gallery that represents the cultural heritage and artistic expression of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Be part of the change: Through your art, you can inspire others and raise awareness about the importance of combating violence against women.
Contribute to a global campaign: Sexual violence is a problem that affects women all over the world, and your art can help tell their stories and find solutions.

Who can participate?

The call is open to senior artists in the field of visual arts. The exhibition will also feature works by students of the International University of Sarajevo, who have already completed projects on this topic.

Artist Responsibilities:

The works must be in static form, i.e. in printed or installation form, suitable for exhibition in a gallery space.

How to apply?

Submit an application that includes a brief description of your work and its concept. Attach photos, sketches or videos that best illustrate your idea. Application deadline: January 25, 2025.

Works that:

They openly and honestly discuss the problem of sexual violence against women.
They combine artistic value with a strong social message.
They encourage dialogue and inspire change in society.
